Description
This is a steatite or black pipestone Plains pipe. The pipe bowl is app 3″ long and it stands 1-7/8″ tall. The pipe and stem will be 11-1/2″ long when the bowl is connected to the stem. This pipe will make a nice personal or ceremonial pipe for someone.
Darwin Wallenburg is the artist who made this pipe and stem. He’s been making pipes from this material for over 30 years. His mentor was Little Feather and they worked together in Pipestone, MN when Darwin was a young man. He learned from the best! He will be happy to sign the pipe if you request it when purchasing it. There is a little area on the order form where you can leave us a ‘note’. If you’d like to see photos of some of the custom pipes crafted by Darwin, check out the Ceremonial Pipes album on the Lakota Creations Facebook Page.
All pipes come standard with an unbeaded Cedar Stem unless otherwise noted…although this pipe does come with some nice stem options. (including hardwood stems as well as beadwork and leather fringes) This pipe is pictured with a beaded Redwood Stem.
