Description
Plains style ceremonial pipes have been used for 100’s of years by the Midwestern tribes. This ceremonial pipe bowl is app 5″ long and it stands app 3″ tall. The total length of the pipe is 19″ long. It’s a beautiful dark red color throughout the entire pipe.
From the tobacco stack forward, we made it a 6 sided pipe. It represents each of the 4 directions, Mother Earth, and Father Sky. Many of the older pipes, especially from the late 1800’s were designed like this. This pipe will make a very nice personal or ceremonial pipe for someone.
The plains pipe has matched with a 15″ diamond shaped cedar stem. (Other diamond shaped stem upgrades are now available with this pipe) This is also typical of stems made and used during this era. A beaded feather drop adorns the stem. If you purchase this pipe and would like it signed, simply ask for it. There is an area on the order form where you can leave us a ‘note’.
This pipe is pictured with a diamond shaped redwood stem.
Darwin Wallenburg created this ceremonial pipe bowl and stem. He’s been making ceremonial pipes for over 35 years. He learned the trade from his mentor: Little Feather. In the Ceremonial Pipes album on the Lakota Creations facebook page, you’ll find over 100 very unique pipes that Darwin has made.
