Description

This is a steatite or black pipestone Plains pipe.
A Plains or “T” pipe has been popular with the Plains tribes for centuries.  It is still probably the style of pipe that is most used today.
Steatite is a material that holds up to heat very well and it is relatively easy to carve, so it’s an ideal material to use when crafting a ceremonial pipe.
The plains pipe bowl is app 6″ long and it stands app 3-3/8″ tall.  The total length will be app 23-1/2″ long when the bowl is connected to the stem. This pipe will make a nice ceremonial pipe for someone.
All pipes come standard with a plain cedar Stem unless otherwise noted.  Most of our pipes however do come with some nice stem options.
This pipe is pictured with a beaded Redwood stem.
