Description
Flat cedar is the most desired type, as it is considered an herb of the sun. It is used as a purifying smudge to banish bad thoughts and spirits. It’s smoke is thought to carry one’s prayers, and so it is often burned in the Sweat Lodge, Sundance, and other ceremonies.
Our flat cedar is harvested locally by our family. It is broken down into very usable smaller pieces. There won’t be any big branches in this.
Native uses: aromatic, astringent, diuretic, rheumatism, intermittent fevers, coughs, pain, and as a heart stimulant.
