This horse pipe was crafted from Sacred Red Pipestone. It would make an excellent personal or ceremonial pipe.
Sacred Pipestone is the most sought after carving stone to use for ceremonial pipes because it holds up to heat so well.
Catlinite is used to create ceremonial pipes just like it has been for centuries.
This horse pipe bowl measures 3-3/4″ long and it is 2-3/4″ tall.
Loud Thunder hand crafted this pipe and stem. He is a 6th generation pipe maker who now lives near Pipestone, MN. He works full time as a paramedic on the Rosebud reservation. In his spare time, he likes to make canupa’s. He has already signed this horse pipe for the eventual caretaker.
A 9″ piece of sumac was used to make the swirled stem.
Loud Thunder has other pipes available on this site including a large buffalo pipe
