Description

This is a personal or ceremonial tomahawk pipe made out of red pipestone.
The stone pipe bowl measures app 4″ long and it is 3″ tall. With the stem the total length is approximately 14″ long.
The etchings on the pipe all have meaning. The eagle feather staff or Native American Flag is depicted on each side of the pipe. This is what you would see during the grand entry of a powwow. The feathers on the one side of the pipe are called friendship feathers and represent any two people who are extremely close to each other. This could be husband and wife, 2 brothers, a father or son, 2 best friends, or any relationship where 2 people have a special bond. The trees on the other side can signify a couple of different things. The first story I heard is that it represents a family that continues to grow and get bigger as the years go by. It can also represent a persons life, as he/she grows from a child through adulthood.
All pipes come standard with an unbeaded Cedar Stem unless otherwise noted…although this pipe does come with some nice stem options. (including hardwood stems as well as beadwork and leather fringes) This pipe is pictured with a beaded Redwood Stem.
