Description
This is an exceptionally nice piece of Sacred Catlinite that would be suitable to make several nice ceremonial pipes out of and possibly additional smallers personal pipes.
I’ve wet down the one edge of it so you can see the nice color that you’ll find in this piece of stone.
This piece is a very rectangular shape. It’s been cut on all sides but 1. It measures 7-3/4″ x 6″ and is app 1″ thick.
This stone was quarried by hand at the Pipestone National Monument.
It is the premier carving stone… It’s soft enough to easily work, but it’s hard enough that it will hold great detail.
This type of stone doesn’t often come up for sale, because people who quarry are also pipemakers and they generally save the pipe material to use themselves.
