Large Piece of Black Pipestone or Steatite (App 8″ x 4-1/4″ x 1-3/8″ thick)

This is a nice sized piece of Black Pipestone or Steatite that would be suitable to make several larger pipes out of…or a number of smaller personal pipes.
After this stone is covered with beeswax and polished with a rag, it will be a very nice dark black color.
The black stone that we are selling is the best we’ve ever had the privilege to work with. There are no hard spots in it. It is soft enough to easily carve, yet hard enough to hold great detail…and it will shine up great!
This stone will be comparable to carving the high quality red pipestone.   You’ll understand if you’ve had the opportunity to work with that.
One of the nice things about this stone is that it’s about 1/2 the price of the Sacred Red Pipestone.
The average measurement of this piece is 8″ x 4-1/4″ and it is 1-3/8 ” thick.
This type of black pipestone is one of the best carving stones out there.
