White Buckskin (German Brain Tan) 8.75 Squ Ft

Description

This is as close as it gets to real brain tan buckskin without actually being brain tanned.  This deer hide is nice and white.  It’s 8-3/4 square feet and is a nice suede on both sides.  It’s a little less than 5 feet long and a little less than 24″ wide on average!   This leather is easy to bead on and because it’s so soft you don’t have to worry about broken needles or pierced fingers.  The advantage to this leather over traditional brain tan is that it doesn’t have to be smoked to allow for easy re-softening after becoming wet.  The weight is just right for dresses, leggings, shirts, moccasins, pipebags, etc…  If you look closely at the picture, you’ll see a few small holes in this piece…along the far edge.
