Sacred Catlinite/Red Pipestone (App 5-1/2″ x 3-1/2″ x 1-1/4″)

Description

This is a super nice piece of Sacred Catlinite that would be suitable to make a large effigy pipe out of, or a few smaller personal pipes.
This is another piece that will be a nice dark red color through it.  This type of stone is very sought after.
This piece is app 5-1/2″ at the longest point, and 4-1/2″ at the tallest point. The majority of the piece is 1-1/4″ thick.   This stone was quarried by hand at the Pipestone National Monument.
It is the premier carving stone… It’s soft enough to easily work, but it’s hard enough that it will hold great detail.
This type of stone doesn’t often come up for sale, because people who quarry are also pipemakers and they generally save the pipe material to use themselves.
