Description
This is a nice small piece of Sacred Catlinite that would be suitable to make 1 or 2 ceremonial pipes out of, depending on how they are laid out.
This piece is app 5-1/4″ long at the bottom and is 4-1/2″ tall on the left side. It is 1-3/4″ tall on the right side and it is app 1″ to 1-1/4″ thick.
This stone was quarried by hand at the Pipestone National Monument.
It is the premier carving stone. It’s soft enough to easily work, but it’s hard enough that it will hold great detail.
This type of stone doesn’t often come up for sale, because people who quarry are also pipemakers and they generally save the pipe material to use themselves.
